After Heights, I graduated from Washington and Lee in Lexington VA in 1969 and was drafted. I spent 3 years in the Army serving in VietNam and in Germany. I then returned to the University of Texas for graduate school finishing in 1978 at which point I accepted a position at the Fels Research Institute in Yellow Springs OH as part of the medical school at Wright (Wright Bros) State University in Dayton, OH and have been here ever since. I am in the Departments of Community Health and Pediatrics and spend most of my time in research involving children, the elderly, nutritional status and cardiovacular epidemiology. On a visit back to DFW for a National Kidney Foundation meeting, I rediscovered Michele Sears Cannon (who has been a renal dietitian for 20 years) and we were married in September 2007 in Vail CO. We have between us 4 children: Jack Christopher Cannon, a TCU grad finished nursing school thanks to the very generous and devoted help of his Aunt Bonnie Sears and her husband, Dr. Rody Cox of Dallas. Jack lives in the Vail CO area. Anne Chumlea Portlock, an Air Force Acad grad (as is her husband) are Air Force pilots and live in OK City when not deployed. David Cannon a UT grad as is his wife Natalie live in Austin where Dave works for UT and Natalie teaches Latin in the West Lake schools. Robert Chumlea lives in Enon OH and still works for ATT.

We are spending lots of time running around the country visiting children and family, or on projects for the National Institutes of Health and to Europe for the World Health Organization. There is life north of the Red River!

We are expecting our first granddaughter, OK so we are a bit behind lots of others, like Richard and Carol King who have about 15 grandchildren, well maybe less, you can never believe Richard to keep up on stuff like that.

Hi Michelle and Cameron,
I'm sorry we won't be seeing you all this weekend. Maybe #50 ! Bonnie and I are working together on Saturday night, so I'm sure I'll hear about that great photo. What's hard to believe is that most of us were out in our rollers once in a while and we did not think a lot about it ... I know, Cameron, not you. Thank you for the invite to drop in ... we do have some good friends in Ohio (Bellefontaine, outside or Columbus). We hope to do a long driving trip to New England someday, so you all are on my list. Take Care. You will be missed.
Love,
Lura

Cameron, It is good to hear from you. How are you doing? I am looking forward to the reunion next month. The 3 pictures were taken on our Alaskan cruise last summer. The other picture is with 3 of my 6 grandchildren in the Washington D. C. home of our son. Barbara

Hi Cameron and Michele,
I love your photos ... you two look so happy together! Congratulations on "finding each other". Bonnie, Tamara and Suzanne all look great, too. Will you all be at the reunion?
I remember, Cameron, that you came over to our apartment on Ridgmar Blvd. when I moved back to Fort Worth in 1970. I also saw Sandra (Sayre) and Buzz at that time.
Otherwise ... 40 years, good grief!
I am really looking forward to this reunion. I'll be working the greeters' desk with Bonnie.
Love,
Lura

Hi, Cameron - nice to hear from you. Charlie lives in Eugene, OR; I will send him this site when I get his email & let you know how to contact him.

It may take a day or two - I'm camphosting in a CO state park and don't necessarily get onto my computer every day.
